Scholarship Details

Amount: $3,000

Form of Payment:
The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution of your choice. If payment is not going directly to the institution (e.g., boarding or other costs), prior approval is required.

Deadline: Rolling (no set deadline)

Qualifying Institutions:
Eligible institutions include universities, colleges, private schools, vocational programs, and institutes. Prior approval is required for unaccredited institutions.

Qualifications:

  • No minimum GPA requirement
  • No prior religious or biblical knowledge needed
  • No specific religious affiliation required

How to Earn Your $3,000 Scholarship

This scholarship involves completing three steps: reading, an essay, and a multiple-choice exam.

  1. Reading:
    • Read the Gospel of John (New International Version) to an assigned proctor via video call.
    • The reading will be completed over three sessions, covering seven chapters in each session.
  2. Essay:
    • Write a 1,250-word essay on the Gospel of John.
    • This essay is not graded—completion is the only requirement to proceed to the next step.
  3. Multiple-Choice Exam:
    • Take a 25-question multiple-choice exam on the Gospel of John.
    • A perfect score (100%) is required to pass.
    • The exam is proctored via video call and can be retaken an unlimited number of times.
    • During the exam session, you will also have the opportunity to discuss the Gospel of John with the proctor.

I completed the scholarship process in the Fall of 2018 and received the scholarship the following school year.  While the scholarship took up a lot of time, it was definitely worth it in the end.  When I first heard about this scholarship, I was interested in the fact that it seemed almost impossible to not get it.  Yes, it did seem daunting at first with an essay, interview, and test, but the process was very relaxed and the people in charge of it were very helpful along the way.  While writing the essay, I would read a chapter and reflect on how the topics in it applied to my own life.  As I explained what was occurring in the book, I related it to personal experiences, and this helped me flow through the essay with ease.  By writing this essay, I was able to study the Gospel of John in a way that I had not prior to this scholarship.  I would recommend this scholarship to anyone who plans on attending college.  The people at JoshuaBaby have been so helpful during my transition to college and check up with me regularly to make sure things are going smoothly.  I think more people should apply for this scholarship because it is almost guaranteed and allows you to slow down and think about your life in a way you may not normally as a high school student.
